The Citadel Phoenix are the 2020 My Physio Riverboat Classic girl’s champions defeating the Fredericton High Black Kats 69-68. The ladies from Halifax, like most of their games this weekend, came from behind in the final seconds of the game to steal the victory.
The Phoenix got to the final game with a one-point win over Moncton 63-62. The Black Kats punched their ticket to the finals with an 85-39 victory over Cobequid Cougars from Truro, Nova Scotia.
The Pomodori Pizza Players of the Game in the finals were Jayleigh Bryan (CHS) and Eavan McLaughlin (FHS).
Leading scorers for Citadel were:
- Jayleigh Bryan 18 points (6 3-pointers including game-winner)
- Brinley Holt 17 points
Leading scorers for Fredericton were:
- Allie McCarthy 28 points
- Eaven McLaughlin 18 points
In the consolation finals, Leo Hayes defeated KVHS 63-51.
